In this video you will learn the basics of applying decals to your model trains. In this example an Athearn RTR diesel is used to demonstrate the process. Adding decals is simple and easy to do with only a few basic skills.
Thanks for the tips Roger. I am definitely going to try the spray bottle idea.
Very good tutorial for applying decals. Thank you for sharing.
Great ideas! I use a wet palette for painting figures. Never thought to use one for decals. I also use a piece of packing foam with a hole to hold my bottle of MEK. I liked and subbed.
Great tips!
Great ideas Roger!
Awesome how to video. I learn a lot from this video and realize it's a lot easier then thought. My question is how did you get the white backing on the number boards in the front?
Nice video, when I do lettering, numbers etc I actually use my calipers to measure. I will use a starting point, like the bottom of the cab and just measure to the top of all the numbers. It gets them really level.
Number is to high
You mention Fosteria Ohio…what nmra division? Love to have you do a clinic!
something I would recommend is that when moving around the decal I suggest you use a fine brush or a more dull blade in order to eliminate the factor of tearing and or cutting the decal.
Hi thanks
Though more than locos I am keen on learning how to:
-change boxcar's numbers
and
-place decals on the ends boxcars
.
And what to use in order to keep the boxcar steady in place while with both hands I can manipulate decals processing.
The locomotive looks like HO scale.
