Today, we are going to make a journey to France. At the great model railway exhibition in Leipzig, Germany, the French model railroad club “Amis du Rail 67” presented its beautiful layout built in HO scale. On the modular railway layout, there are one large railway line in HO scale, two railway lines in narrow gauge, and a miniature street for vehicles of the famous Faller Car system. The whole display takes approximately 15 meters in length and 5 meters in width.
Pilentum was absolutely fascinated by the good work, how buildings and trees and the landscape were modeled. Furthermore, the background consists of a beautiful painting. I guess, the background image was painted by Patrice Hamm, a famous artist in railway modelling. The model railroading club and its members created a very special atmosphere: The landscape is not overcrowded with gimmicks. It is a simple, but very beautiful landscape including a small town with half-timbered buildings.
But the most important thing, of course, is the rail transport traffic. On the main line of the railway, we can discover a lot of the finest steam locomotives and steam trains used by the French State Railway. There are also some diesel locomotives and, for example, the famous French railcar. Therefore, there is no catenary, because the French model railroaders do not prefer high-speed trains, only steam trains and freight trains.
On the two narrow-gauge lines some ugly model trains running on two independent loops. Mostly, there are railcars for passenger traffic running between the small villages. Finally, there is also a miniature car system. There are trucks and buses driving behind the railway lines.
Produced with CyberLink PowerDirector 15 We continue with the buiing of my layout , also shows comparisons with the Grass Aplicators

Thanks Dave just sat watching you working on your new lay out ( again) you must have the patience of a Saint.
When you sometimes mention the cost of some of the gadgets you use i.e. the grass shakers I wonder what the cost would be for the full layout will be when you complete this project ? We Scots aren’t really mean we just make a joke of it.😂 The Yorkshire equivalent is , short arms and deep pockets.😂
Regards Harry, Edinburgh.
Coming on Dave. That ballasting tool is fun. Backscenes look great. Laurie.
Hi Dave your motoring now!! It's looking good and I was impressed with your demo of the static grass. I've got the cheaper one for 15 quid and I've not used it yet. Hopefully be at that stage next couple of weeks as on the dreaded ballasting.
All the best Pete
Another great video Dave. Helpful bit about static grass. As with everything you do, you make it look easy. I am learning the application of it at the moment. Cant get mine to stand up as well as yours.
Steve
You certainly have been busy Dave! I sympathise with you about the "sticky" back scene the same thing happened to me when I attempted to put it up by myself! Looking forward to the next instalment .
Sam….
Yes more glue for the ballast for sure , I never bothered doing ballast in my tunnel , figure no one will see it anyway , are you going to put another upper level again Dave , lots of work ahead Cheers take your time !
That’s some progress Dave I love the static grass demo I have the cheap one myself and had no problems with it. 👍
both static grass looks about the same your layout is coming on now looking good dave
Nice Dave. U puttin the fish pond bk on?
More tinkering Dave, You'll be running all around by Christmas. I like the back scenes, I might get some next time I'm over. David.
The backscenes come in two different sizes. I used the smaller ones at each end of my layout but am going to change the end at the industrial unit to the larger one but the same scene as the more I look at it the more out of sink I think it looks. Paste the boards and the backscenes for the best results. Happy modelling!
Thanks Dave, extremely good for us to see you at work. Thank God for Deb. Ha ha ha. When in doubt , eh. Have a lovely weekend both of you. Steve gwr swan village. Ps, i made my static grass applicator , cost me £2 including tea strainer from Poundland. Works fine
Thanks Dave. I always enjoy watching your modeling & your current rebuild is really coming along nicely 👍👍
